Justified?

I am a citizen of India and just wanted to share something with all of you. I am no one to judge the situation and blame others but this is what I strongly feel….

Just imagine you are a common person and earn 25k per month. With being the only earner in the family everyone is happy with your salary and the fact that you are able to pay the rent of your house, fulfill everyone’s need, able to carry out your expenses, your boss is happy with your work, you receive incentives……in short you are satisfied with your life.

These things keep on for some time and one day at the end of the month, when you are eagerly waiting for your salary to be credited into your Account……you get only 10k in your bank account. Despite working with honesty and delivering work on time, your boss decides to cut down your salary…and on asking your boss the reason for your salary cut your boss smiles and says that it’s for your betterment…how would you feel?

That’s what happening with the farmers of our country, and I just gave this example to relate the things but the situation is much worse for the farmers. I don’t know much about farming but the amount of hard work that goes into raising crops, right from purchasing the seeds, protecting from the pests and then harvesting the same for further process, it’s a thankless job. All they are asking the Government is to have their MSP(minimum support price) so that at least they can sell their crops at rates decided by the Government.

Government support for farmers, which included guaranteed minimum prices for certain essential crops, helped India move past the hunger crisis of the 1960s. But with India liberalizing its economy in recent decades, Mr. Modi — who wants the country’s economy to nearly double by 2024 — sees such a large role for the government as no longer sustainable.

Farmers, however, contend that they are struggling even with the existing protections. They say that market-friendly laws will eventually eliminate regulatory support and leave them bereft, with the weakened economy offering little chance of a different livelihood.

And with all the violence that is happening, it won’t stop unless you give them what they want…because they know what they are fighting for is right and that is the reason they are fearless.Again I am not an expert and neither supporting or blaming anyone on this issue but as a citizen it really hurts to think that what I must have felt if my rights were taken away from me?

Before wrapping up I would just like to share some lines with all of you…

Just remember if you ate today,Thank a Farmer 💕
